CrossFit HI in Kauai – Functional

Functional movements replicate movement in real life or sport.  For example, at CrossFit HI, we teach the Squat and you use the squat, like it or not, every day when you get out of bed or when you sit on the toilet.  Non-Functional movements are those you see everyday in a typical gym – ie curls, flys, lat raises, etc. Are those movements bad?  No.  But in terms of the functionality – i.e. preparing you for real life – they don’t really have a place.

How much work can you do in a given period of time? The more work you can do, the fitter you are, and the higher the intensity of your training.  At CrossFit HI in Kauai we use group training, on-site coaching, and a running clock to push our members as far as they can go (within reason).

CrossFit HI in Kauai – Variety

Real Fitness means being able to do ANYTHING.  Thus, at CrossFit Hi we will program a new workout for you daily because we want you ready for anything.  We train you in weights, in olympic lifts, in gymnastic basics (pushups, pullups), in endurance, and in plyometrics.  This keeps the workouts fun and it keeps your body from plateauing – ie you keep seeing improvements.
